Restoring Backups via the Control Panel

Updated over a month ago

If you want to restore data from a backup, you can easily do this through the hosting Control Panel. Follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Step 1: Go to the “Web Hosting” Section

First, log in to your Control Panel and navigate to the “Web Hosting” tab.

Step 2: Select the Appropriate Hosting Subscription

From the list of available subscriptions, choose the one where you want to restore data. Click on it to proceed.

Step 3: Open the “Files Explorer”

After selecting the subscription, find and click on “Files Explorer” in the left-hand menu. This will open the file manager, where you can manage your website files.

Step 4: Go to the /backups Folder

In the file manager, open the /backups folder — this is where the backup archives were uploaded.

Step 5: Open the Desired Backup

Inside the /backups folder, you will see archive files with your backups. You can open any archive and browse its contents — the folder structure reflects the state at the time of the backup.

💡 It is recommended to start with the largest backup, as it usually contains the most complete set of data.

Step 6: Extract the Needed Data

Once you've found the necessary folder inside the archive:

  1. Select it.

  2. Click the “Extract Folder To…” button.

  3. Specify the extraction path — by default, the original path used when the archive was created will be pre-filled. You can keep it or change it as needed.

⚠️ Note: Since the backup may contain a large number of files, navigating through it can take some time — please allow the system to load fully.

Safety Recommendation

Before starting the extraction process:

  • Download the websites locally — this gives you an extra backup copy just in case something goes wrong during extraction.

If you run into any difficulties during the process, feel free to contact technical support — we’ll help you restore your data.
