Connecting your own domain to Google Sites allows you to use a professional and memorable URL for your site. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it

Step 1: Access Site Settings

  1. Log in to your Google account and navigate to Google Sites.

  2. Choose an existing site from your list or create a new one.

  3. In the site interface, click on the Settings icon (the gear icon in the upper right corner).

  4. In the settings menu, select Custom Domains and click on Start Setup.

  5. Enter the domain name that users will use to find your site.

Step 2: Verify Ownership

  1. On the ownership verification screen, click Verify.

  2. Select your domain registrar from the list provided or choose Other if your registrar is not listed.

  3. Log in to your registrar's control panel, go to the Domains section, then select the domain you want to link to your site.

  4. In the DNS Records section, choose the TXT record type and enter the value google-site-verification=... for verification.

  5. After adding the record, wait for the DNS to update (usually up to 24 hours) and click Verify in Google Sites.

  6. If the verification is successful, you will see a notification confirming it.

Step 3: Add a CNAME Record

  1. To finalize linking your domain to your site, add a CNAME record through your registrar's control panel.

  2. Repeat the DNS record addition process, this time choosing the CNAME record type and specifying the necessary values.

  3. After successfully adding the CNAME record, wait for the DNS to update.

  4. Return to Google Sites settings and complete the process by clicking Done

Done!

Your site is now accessible via your chosen domain. These settings allow you to manage your site at a more professional level and enhance its recognition among users.
