How to Connect a Domain to Tilda
Updated over a week ago

Step 1: Determine the IP Address on Tilda

First, you need to find out the IP address that your domain will point to. Log in to your account on Tilda, navigate to the project with your site, and open Site Settings. In the Domain section, enter your domain if you haven’t done so already. The system will display the IP address needed for the next steps.

Step 2: Setting Up DNS Records

Go to the client panel on the site where your domain is registered (for example, on regery.com). Navigate to the Domains section, select the required domain, and click Actions. In the drop-down menu, select DNS Records (Regery). If you do not have the DNS management option, check whether the DNS servers of your hosting provider are specified. If necessary, change them to those offered by your registrar to activate DNS management.

Step 3: Creating A Records

In the DNS Management section, create two records:

  • For the main domain: in the Host Name field, in Record Type select A, and in Address input the IP address obtained from Tilda.

  • For the www subdomain: repeat the process, but in the Host Name field enter www.

After making the changes, save them. To check the connection, return to your Tilda account and in the Domain section select Check Domain Connection.

Additional Notes

  • Time for changes to take effect: DNS updates may take effect instantly, but sometimes they can take up to 24-48 hours to propagate globally, especially if DNS servers were recently changed.

  • Connection verification: After the records are created, it's important to verify that your site is correctly displayed on the new domain. Use tools like DNS Checker to monitor the status of DNS record propagation worldwide.

By following these steps, you can successfully connect your domain to Tilda, ensuring your site is correctly displayed on your desired address.
