Managing SRV Records in the DNS System on Regery Platform
SRV records in DNS are special instructions that designate servers servicing specific services, often used for SIP configurations. These records follow a strictly defined naming scheme.
To add or modify an SRV record in your DNS zone on Regery, follow these steps:
Login to Regery:
Sign in to your account on Regery and go to the Domains section.
Selecting the Domain:
Find the domain for which you need to configure the SRV record and select Actions.
Editing DNS Records:
In the sidebar, select DNS Records (Regery).
Use the search function or scroll through the list to find the desired SRV record.
It's recommended to copy the current configuration into a text editor for backup.
Parameters of the SRV Record:
Name: Set according to the format _service._protocol, for example, _imaps._tcp. The domain name is added automatically.
Weight: Used to distribute traffic between servers (load balancing).
Port: Specify the required port, for example, for IMAP this would be 993.
Target: Specify the target server, which could be a CNAME record or an IP address.
TTL (Time to Live): Typically, the default TTL value recommended by the system is used.
If your domain is managed through another provider using NS records, changes should be made through that provider's control panel.
These guidelines will help you effectively manage SRV records, ensuring the proper functioning of the specified services.
How to edit or see SRV records?
